League Rules 2009

 

The league has decided to adopt the rules laid out by England Rounders for those rules relating to the format of the game, for example, number of players, playing area, umpires, scoring and running. These will be enforced by the league and the umpire officiating that game.

 

Teams

1.           All teams must be affiliated to the England Rounders

2.           Teams must wear the colour kit they select at the start of each season throughout its duration.

3.           Teams may sign new players during the season but these must be notified to the Secretary who will ensure they get affiliated before being allowed to play. New players must also pay a signing on fee of £5 N.B. NO player may take part in a league match without being affiliated.

4.           Teams will be charged at a set fee of £10 per night which can be paid to the treasurer weekly or at the start of the season in full.

5.           Teams must immediately inform the league Secretary of any changes in contact details.

6.           The minimum age for team members at the start of each season is 14.

 

Matches

1.           The home named team must arrive in plenty of time to set-up the pitch ready for commencement of the match.

2.           All matches will commence simultaneously at 6:45pm.

3.           An innings will consist of 27 good balls, and a match will consist of two innings per team, unless agreed with the league secretary prior to the match starting.

4.           In the event of rain on match days Sam Bateman or Naomi Davison will contact captains by 5:00pm, teams are reminded that football boots/suitable footwear should be worn.

5.           In the event of a tie on points at the end of the season the league will be decided by HEAD TO HEAD FINAL IN THE EVENT OF A TIE 

Umpires

1.           Every team must have a minimum of two qualified umpires in their squad.

2.           Each team must provide an umpire for officiating their match taking place that night even if not able to raise a team. UMPIRES WILL UMPIRE THEIR OWN GAMES

3.           The umpires decision on the night is final and not to be questioned.

4.           Results of the matches and score cards must be given to the league secretary before 9pm on the day of the match. 

 

Committee

1.           The committee will consist of Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, Team representative from each team and Lincolnshire Sports Partnership representative.

2.           The committee may call an emergency meeting at any time during the season.

3.           Any complaints in regard to an umpire, another team or any other matter must be received by the secretary within 5 working days of the incident occurring.

4.           The committee will decide on the outcome of any complaint received or sanction put in place after a league rule is broken.

5.           The committee’s decision is final on matters relating to the league, other misconduct will be dealt with by the Governing Body the league is affiliated to.

6.           An annual AGM will run at the close of each season.
