Pre-season Meeting Minutes 25/03/09

1.         Welcome         – introduce committee (Me, Naomi and Heather)

Sam (Long Shots) – re-elected as secretary and treasurer of the league for the 2009 season

Naomi (Next Round) – remains social secretary (as voted at 2008 End of season AGM)

Heather (Long Shots) – remains Child Welfare Officer (not at meeting as just had a baby)

Helen (Minstrels) – stepped down as Chair person (due to other commitments)

Lindsey (Oompa Lumpas) – voted as Chairperson for 2009 season

Rachel (Battles) – appointed as assistant secretary & treasurer

                                   

2.         New members

New members that attended the meeting were signed to teams

Any new teams are advised to contact Sam ASAP for affiliation forms to be submitted by NO LATER than 8th APRIL 2009

 

3.         Affiliation procedure

Signing on fee of £5 (same as last season) which not only covers the affiliation to the league (£45 per team), but covers helping to reduce the cost of courses (hoping to organise an umpiring course locally), new equipment (we need new balls because we lost quite a few last season, and bats as the old ones are getting worn, as well as new kitbags)

Affiliation forms AND fees to be returned by NO LATER than 8th APRIL 2009 – email completed forms to sam_rounders@hotmail.co.uk – cash/cheques to be sent to Sam or paid directly into the league back account ! – contact Sam for details.

N.B. No players can play in league matches until their signing on fee has been paid to Sam. Sam will then forward their details forwarded to Rounders England for affiliation

 

4. Weekly cost per team remains at 10 – to be paid promptly at the end of each week. Teams may also pay upfront if they prefer – email Sam NO LATER than 8th APRIL 2009 with your preference

 

5.         Structure of the league

                                                               i.      League dates

Preseason friendlies - to start 22nd April for 2 weeks. League to start after that, Sam currently negotiating the pitch bookings and will advise on league end dates 19th August 2009

                                                             ii.      Umpiring

                                                            iii.      Rain

Same as 2008 season, teams are advised to wear football boots if it has been raining. Naomi will text team captains at approximately 5pm on match days if the games are called off

                                                           iv.      Results

Score sheets and weekly subs to be paid to Sam (Long Shots) promptly at the end of each game

                                                            v.      Rules of the league

                                                           vi.      Complaints procedure

Complaints to be emailed to sam_rounders@hotmail.co.uk or through the Lincoln Ladies Rounders League website – No later than 5 days after the match in question – the committee will aim to respond within 2 days

                                                         vii.      Kit

New kit will be purchased for the 2009 season; existing damaged kit will be replaced. Anyone wanting a kit for practice should contact Sam directly

                                                        viii.      Team colours

Teams may change their colour, provided the colour has not already been taken (see website)

Any team wishing to change their name should contact Sam NO LATER than 8th APRIL 2009

 

6.       Tournament @ Rotherham

Tournament is on April 26th @ Rotherham - registered as Lincoln Ladies - If anyone interested to get in touch ASAP!  - *HAVE CANCELLED OUR PLACE*

 

7.       Personal accident insurance

Rounders England and the Lincoln Rounders league are STRONGLY RECOMMENDING that teams take out separate Personal Accident Insurance. The NRA has recommended that Taylors offer excellent value for money Personal Accident insurance. It was agreed that the league would like an inter county tournament – Lynsey Creaser for Lincolnshire Sports Partnership to speak to other leagues
